Art Attack in EYFS!!

Nursery and Reception pupils are currently learning about different styles of Art and how it is created. We have explored Michelangelo and Jackson Pollock, and the children have been creating their own work through imitating their styles.

The children have laid on their backs drawing under the table, as Michelangelo laid on his back painting and have also painted the ceiling whilst standing. They have also created a giant splatter painting whilst moving to Jazz music, similar to Jackson Pollock.

Paul Jackson Pollock was an American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was widely noticed for his technique of pouring or splashing liquid household paint onto a horizontal surface, enabling him to view and paint his canvases from all angles.
