Early Years provision for 2 and 3 year olds at Forest Academy
At Forest Academy we offer year round day care for children from 2 years old via an onsite nursery provider.
is open year round and provides for paid and funded places, as well as extended hours and wrap around care during term time. Children who are in receipt of two year old funding, transfer automatically from Kendor to the school nursery when they turn 3 years old. The entrance to Kendor can be accessed, via the blue single gate, to the right of the main school entrance. The entrance is secure and is accessed by a video entry system.

Nursery children are taught in our well-resourced Early Years Unit alongside the Reception children. This supports the personal, social and emotional development of all as the Reception children are very caring and supportive of their younger peers whilst the nursery children have great role models to aspire to. All children have access to a beautiful wooded outdoor area, complete with stream, which provides great opportunities for active learning through exploration and investigation.
In order to provide Parents and Carers’ with greater flexibility, we offer a range of options for the 15 hours funded nursery places. Many choose to condense the 15 hours so children are in for 2 ½ days, instead of 5 am or pm sessions. Some opt for one full day and 3 sessions, either morning or afternoon and others pay for top up sessions at £15 per session. A full week of 5 additional paid sessions costs £75.
Session times :
AM session: 8.45am – 11.45am
PM session: 12.15pm – 3.15pm
Full time : 8.45am - 3.15pm
Lunchtimes are a social event when staff and children eat their packed lunches together and unlike other local providers, we offer this FREE OF CHARGE, you just need to supply your child with a packed lunch.
Visits to the school are welcomed.
