Year 6 Sleepover
Posted on November 14, 2019
Staff and children in year 6 spent the night sleeping in school on Thursday 14th November. This exhausting event is to help the children develop some empathy for the plight of the homeless as part of their topic ‘Lending a Helping Hand’. As well as taking part in a quiz and waiting in line at the soup kitchen, we were very lucky to have a presentation made by a member of staff from the homeless charity, SHP. The children were given the opportunity to hear some very moving stories and worrying statistics as well as to ask questions. The staff were very impressed with how sensible the children were and were surprised to actually manage a couple of hours sleep themselves!
