As a staff team we work to make sure that Shirley Children’s Centre delivers services for the community and even if we don’t know, we generally know someone who does and can point you in the right direction.

Katie: Universal Service coordinator (Centre Manager) - Hi, my names Katie and I manage and oversee the day to day running of Shirley Children’s Centre and its service delivery plan. We are open for no less than 48 weeks of the year including the holidays, Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.00pm. The main focus of the work at the children’s centre is child development and school readiness, parenting aspirations, child and family health. The centre offers a wide variety of sessions and courses for families with children under the age of 5 years in term time and up to the age of 9 years in school holidays. In addition to this I am the designated safeguarding lead for the centre and oversee safeguarding for families, staff and external providers. The centre offers family support and is able to signpost families to access additional help should they need it. I am also a Certified IAIM baby massage instructor (CIMI) and teach a 5 week course within the centre for parents and their babies from 8 weeks to pre crawling. Nicky: Administrator - Hi, I am the Centre Administrator at Shirley Children's Centre. I started working here in March 2013 and have over 16 years experience in administration. My role is to provide administrative support to ensure efficent operations of the children's centre, this includes support with 2 year funding, booking families onto Best Start courses and registering new families. I also update our Facebook page & Website for new and upcoming information - please take a look and have a read through. I am in the office Monday to Thursday from 8.00am till 4.00pm. Please feel free to come into the centre and enquire about all the services we have on offer. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as we are dedicated to ensure that we do everything possible to improve family life. Trifina: Early Years Educator (EYE) - Hi, My names Trifina and I am the Early Years Educator at Shirley Children's Centre. My role is to provide stimulating and engaging activities for children 0 – 5 years and to provide support and advice to parents/carers. I have worked in the childcare industry for over 15 years and have a wealth of experience and knowledge. My working hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. I will be delivering various sessions across the week which include Now I’m 2, Book start, Mucky bubs, Chatterbox, Hello baby, Stay and play and Sensory for babies. Please pop in and say Hi. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and building strong relationships with both children and their families.

Sophie: Early Years Assistant (EYA)- Hi, I am the Early Years Assistant for Shirley Children's Centre.
My working days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8.00am-4.00pm. I will be working alongside the EYE to jointly deliver sessions for children and families but am also on hand to offer imformation, advice and support to parents. I have worked in childcare for over 10 years and have 2 children of my own so have a wealth of experience. Please feel free to pop in and say "Hi".
