Welcome to The South Norwood Academy
“Progress through innovation and invention”
We are a large primary academy serving the community of South Norwood, Croydon. We are a member of the Synaptic Trust.
We are committed to ensuring that all children embrace and achieve their potential by developing a school that improves and grows through innovation, in which children feel safe and valued; families and the school community are supported and work together. Children are taught to be instinctively reflective and inquisitive, thereby leaving our school with the confidence and self-belief to become aspirational, successful citizens in the diversity of 21st century Britain.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to The South Norwood Academy. The school opened on the 1 January 2016 following the closure of South Norwood Primary School. The academy is a member of the Synaptic Trust.
Opening and developing a new school is a huge privilege and responsibility. Everyone involved in this endeavour is determined to create a world class learning community where no child is left behind and where creativity and progress is fuelled by innovation and invention. Everyone, pupil and adult alike, is encouraged and expected to excel.
To achieve this we will develop and deliver an exciting and meaningful curriculum. We will create a stimulating and safe learning environment that is equipped and maintained to the highest standards. Our learning culture will be supportive and open to all and we will seek opportunities to work with others in order to develop our practice.
